Nothing beats a celebration without the distraction of the internet and your mobile phones. We like to call this an "Unplugged Wedding." When smartphones became cheaply and readily available to the market, people became more occupied and less involved with socializing or living in the moment. What makes it worse is that, we are very dependent on them, the "can't live, can't breathe without em' " type of dependency. Yes, technology is making our life easier, but we are forgetting to enjoy the little things. Capturing the moment on your phone or your camera will never be as good as actually living the moment. Remember that moment of Walter Mitty and the photographer Sean O' Connell:
Walter Mitty: When are you going to take it?
Sean: Sometimes I don't. If I like the moment, for me, personally, I don't like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.
Walter Mitty: Stay in it?
Sean: Yeah. Right there. Right here.
So, here is the list of the advantages of having an unplugged wedding.
We are too busy getting the right picture that we are forgetting to enjoy the moment. If you decide to have an unplugged wedding, your guests will enjoy every single moment! They will not be occupied by the posts, likes, the tweets and whatsoever.
If you have too many cameras chances are there will be more unwanted photos on Facebook and Instagram, the bride yawning, the groom sneezing, the bridesmaids guffawing. Because you cannot control your guests to upload what they have taken.
Your photographer and videographer will thank you! Because there will be no guests interfering in his spot, no faces glued to every phone screens everytime he will take a picture of the crowd. And he can do his job the way he envisioned your beautiful wedding will be.
Your wedding is your moment and all brides and grooms want to be the first one to upload their wedding pictures, not their guests. It is like stealing the spotlight, or revealing something that should not be revealed yet!
