Apr 20, 2018

Most couples nowadays are deciding to have a sneak peek of each other before the ceremony starts and this practice is becoming popular.   Can’t decide if you should have a first look or not? Read these pros and cons to know what’s best for you and your husband-to-be!

  • Controlled tears

If you cry a lot and you cannot control those tears from falling, the first look will save you from crying uncontrollably down the aisle.  You don’t have to worry about ruined makeup or photos that do not compliment you.

  • You will have a private moment

Before entertaining the guests, smiling a lot in front of cameras and doing all the itinerary for the day, you can have a private talk with your husband-to-be.  You can take a deep breath, hug each other and just enjoy the moment.

  • You can have a photo shoot before the ceremony

Most of the time couples don’t get to have or do their planned photos during the reception because they are too engaged with the guests and the wedding traditions.  You can have that planned photo shoot during your first look!

  • You need to get up early

If you are going to have a first look with your partner you need to get up early so you can have time to talk and take photos.  If your wedding happens to be in the morning and you are not a morning person, this could be a problem.

  • You will lose that special moment

If you want to have that teary-eyed groom photo on your wedding photo album, then this practice is not a good idea because you will have fewer emotions.  It cannot guarantee an emotional picture.
